EQUIPMENTS PURCHASED UNDER VGST-CESEM GRANT

During the academic year 2021–22, GSSS Institute of Engineering and Technology for Women Mysuru, was sanctioned a research grant of ₹40 lakhs by the Vision Group on Science and Technology (VGST) under the Centre of Excellence in Science, Engineering and Medicine (CESEM) Scheme for establishing a Centre for Research in Cyber-Physical Virtual Reality-Based Embodied AI Robotics”. The project was sanctioned under Grant Reference No. GRD 925 for duration of two years under Dr. M. Shivakumar as the Principal Investigator (PI), and Dr. M. V. Srinivas Rao  as the Co-Principal Investigator (Co-PI).

The Centre was established to promote advanced research and innovation in the interdisciplinary fields of Cyber-Physical Systems, Virtual Reality, Artificial Intelligence, and Robotics. It provided a platform for faculty members, researchers, and students to undertake cutting-edge research, develop innovative technological solutions, and strengthen collaborative research activities with academia and industry. The sanction of this prestigious VGST grant is a significant milestone in the institution’s research journey and reflects its commitment to fostering excellence in emerging technologies and advanced engineering research.

  • VLSI Lab provides hands-on design and simulation of basic building blocks of digital integrated circuits using EDA tools and Technologies.
  • The Laboratory is in Room No A 304, L3 with Carpet area of 75 Square meters with sufficient numbers of working table and other required infrastructure.
  • The Major equipments are Core i7 Desktop computers, 24 port LAN Switch. An un-interrupted power backup 5KVA online UPS with power backup are batteries available for conduction/practicing of the Laboratory experiments.
  • For the safety purpose Fire Extinguisher is installed in the Laboratory.

SKILL LAB 3 : RoboSys – Embedded Systems & Robotics Lab

Embedded Systems & Robotics Lab – A-318B (85 Sq.mtrs)

  • The Laboratory is in Room No A 318B with Carpet area of 85 Square meters with sufficient numbers of working table and other required infrastructure.
  • A Robotics Laboratory is a specialized facility designed to support learning, research, and development in robotics and automation. The lab enables students to design, build, program, and test robotic systems.
  • The Major equipments are Desktop computers, Fire Bird V Robot, Spark V Robot, Hexapod Robot, Rovio Robot, Fire Bird VI Robot, RP LIDAR A2, Xbox KINECT Camera, ZED Camera, Tortoise BOT, Function Generator Gw Instek, DSO.
  • For the safety purpose Fire Extinguisher & CC cameras is installed in the Laboratory.

Augmented Reality & Virtual Reality Lab – A-318B (85 Sq.mtrs)

  • The Laboratory is in Room No A 318B with Carpet area of 85 Square meters with sufficient numbers of working table and other required infrastructure.
  • An Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) Laboratory focuses on immersive technology development and applications in education, training, and simulation.
  • The Major equipments are Desktop computers, HoloSuit Pro Kit, Eddiebot, VR Headsets- Meta Quest 2 and Meta Quest 3, Drone, Loco Bot PX100 Robotic kit, Asus Graphic enabled Laptop, Humanoid Robot, Function Generator Gw Instek, DSO.
  • For the safety purpose Fire Extinguisher & CC cameras is installed in the Laboratory.

  • The Interactive Acoustic Room is designed to provide a controlled and adaptive environment for the analysis and improvement of speech signals. It enables precise recording, playback, and interaction between the user and the system, making it ideal for speech-based research and therapeutic applications such as automated stuttering assessment and correction.

  • The Laboratory is in Room No A 312 with Carpet area of 160 Square meters with sufficient numbers of working table and other required infrastructure.

  • The Desktops are connected with LAN and provided internet connection.
  • For Un-Interrupted power backup 25KVA online UPS with 30 Nos Exide Battery power backup available for conduction/practicing of the Laboratory experiments.
  • For the safety purpose Fire Extinguisher is installed in the Laboratory.
