Samsung Innovation Campus

The Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC) Lab at GSSS Institute of Engineering and Technology for Women (GSSSIETW), Mysuru, has emerged as a premier platform for nurturing technical excellence through its collaboration with Samsung Research Institute Bangalore (SRIB). The initiative aims to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry requirements by offering intensive training in Coding & Programming, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and the Internet of Things (IoT). The programme follows a blended learning model, where 80% of the sessions are delivered by SRIB industry experts and 20% by trained institute faculty members, ensuring effective knowledge transfer and continuous student mentoring. To facilitate timely completion of the curriculum, special weekend sessions were conducted whenever required.

The Phase 1 training, conducted from 21 February 2025 to 12 September 2025, focused on building strong foundations in Coding & Programming and Artificial Intelligence. The Coding & Programming course comprised 95 hours and was delivered by Mr. Nithin N from SRIB, with institute instructors Dr. Manjuprasad B and Mrs. Jeevitha H. M. The Artificial Intelligence programme consisted of 355 hours of training led by Mr. Prasadh Krishna Murthy from SRIB, supported by Dr. Manjuprasad B, Dr. Pradeep Kumar R, Dr. Gururaj K. S., and Dr. Arpitha Shankar S. I. Through hands-on sessions, practical assignments, and project-based learning, students developed a strong understanding of programming, machine learning, and AI technologies.

Beyond classroom learning, the SIC programme provided students with valuable industry exposure. Participants attended the Agentic AI Summit at IISc Bengaluru, where they interacted with industry leaders and explored emerging trends and real-world applications of Artificial Intelligence. The training concluded with capstone projects and a project expo, providing students with an opportunity to demonstrate their technical knowledge, innovation, and practical implementation skills before faculty members and industry experts.

Building on the success of the first phase, Phase 2 was conducted from 7 November 2025 to 15 June 2026, introducing advanced training in Coding & Programming and the Internet of Things (IoT). The 93-hour Coding & Programming course was delivered by Mr. Veeranna from SRIB, with guidance from Dr. Manjuprasad B, Dr. Arpitha Shankar S. I., Dr. Asha M., and Mrs. Jeevitha H. M. The 240-hour IoT programme was conducted by Mr. Sharath from SRIB, supported by Dr. Manjuprasad B, Dr. Arpitha Shankar S. I., and Dr. Bharthi R. Students gained practical exposure to embedded systems, sensor integration, cloud connectivity, and real-world IoT applications, significantly enhancing their technical and problem-solving skills.

The proposed Phase 3 of the Samsung Innovation Campus will further strengthen students’ competencies through 133 hours of Coding & Programming, 245 hours of Internet of Things (IoT), and 380 hours of Artificial Intelligence (AI). This advanced phase is expected to focus on next-generation technologies, innovation-driven learning, and industry-oriented projects, preparing students for future technological advancements.

The SIC Lab is equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure, including GPU servers, high-performance computing systems, smart interactive displays, and IoT training kits, creating an industry-grade learning environment that seamlessly bridges academic concepts with practical applications.
