GSSSIETW is mainly built to educate women’s towards engineering & technology domain. Apart from different facilities offered at GSSSIETW, the institution also offers additional facilities for providing entrepreneurship opportunities to the students through the Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC)

Objectives

  • To impart Entrepreneurship skills to the students
  • To create Entrepreneurship culture in the campus
  • To motivate and support our students to become Entrepreneurs
  • To educate our students for the ongoing commercial affairs
  • Visiting Successful Industries for practical understanding of the current trends
  • Inviting experts from various sectors like Banks, Industries, Electrical Boards, Energy
  • Conservation Boards, etc.. to highlight the support from different private and government agencies
  • 7 To setup Incubation Centre in our campus to facilitate resources to the skilled unemployed women graduates

GSSS Institute of Engineering and Technology for Women, Mysuru, signed a Memorandum of Understandingwith Mysore Chamber of Commerce and Industry on 26th June, 2023. This MOU is entered into by and between the Women wing of Mysore Chamber of Commerce and Industry and GSSS Institute of Engineering and Technology for Women, Mysuru. By signing the MoU,Mysore chamber of Commerce has agreed to execute various Entrepreneurship Development Programmes for the benefit of B.E, M-Tech and MBA students studying in GSSS Institute of Engineering and Technology for Women Mysuru. The programmes under MOU include Entrepreneurship Awareness Programmes, Certificate programs and other skill development programs. The joint programs between Women wing of Mysore Chamber of Commerce and Industry and GSSS Institute of Engineering and Technology for Women, Mysuru can promote Innovation, economic self reliance and can motivate the students to become job providers rather than job seekers.
The MoU was signed by Dr.Shivakumar.M ,Principal GSSSIETW ,Mysore and by Mr.Lingaraju ,President Mysore chamber of Commerce and Industry& T. A Vasanta Kumari, President, Wise- Women Wing of Mysore Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mysuru.

The Inauguration of 5 Days Faculty Development Program on “Entrepreneurship” was organized by ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT CELL(EDC) of GSSS Institute of Engineering & Technology for Women (GSSSIETW) in association with Atal Incubation Centre Jyothi Institute of Technology Foundation(AIC-JITF) Bangalore in online platform on 25th October 2021.This FDP is being organized with an objective to create a sustainable startup culture among the faculty members of GSSSIETW,Mysore.

Mr. Rohit Gupta, Programme Director, Atal Incubation Mission, NITI Aayog was the Distinguished Chief Guest of the inaugural program . He in his address appreciated GSSSIETW and AIC-JITF for initiating this Faculty development program to build an entrepreneurial culture at GSSSIETW. Dr. M. Shivakumar, Principal, GSSSIETW delivered a presentation on the credentials of GSSSIETW and highlighted the EDC activities .Dr. M G Anantha Prasad, CEO, AIC-JITF Briefed about the incubation activities at AIC –JITF.Dr. S. Padmashree, Professor and ED cell Coordinator, coordinated the event.

Six weeks Technology based Entrepreneurship Development Programme (TEDP) on “Food Technology” organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell and Institution Innovation Council of GSSS Institute of Engineering & Technology for Women, Mysuru in association with Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India was inaugurated by chief Guest Dr. Sridevi Annapurna Singh, Director, CFTRI, Mysore on 25th January 2021. Mr.Yeshaswi Nag, Mentor Atal Incubation Centre, was the Guest of Honor for the program. Dr.Lakshmi Jagannathan, CEO, DERBI foundation, Bengaluru nominated as DST Observer also attended the inaugural function. Smt. Vanaja B Pandit, Hon. Secretary GSSS (R), Dr.Shivakumar.M, Principal, GSSSIETW were present for the inauguration.

GSSS Institute of Engineering and Technology for Women, Mysuru has organized One Day induction Programme about “Entrepreneurship” on 20th August 2019 under Entrepreneurship Development Cell. Signing of Memorandum of Understanding(MoU) with Atal Incubation Centre-Jyothi Institute of Technology-(AIC-JIT),Bangalore on September 26th 2019.
GSSSIETW signed an MoU with Atal Incubation Centre- Jyothi Institute of Technology Foundation Bengaluru on 26TH September 2010 to enable aspiring individuals, students and faculties to incubate and to build their start-up Ventures. JITF has come forward to sign MoU for co-incubation activity with our institute for a period of five years. The MoU is made for the purpose of mentoring, training, product development and co-incubation model to the student community and Staffs of GSSSIETW for incubating their start up ventures.

On account of International women’s day, the final round Business plan challenge for women was organised on March 10th 2020 by Atal Innovation Centre- Jyothi Institute of Engineering Foundation, Bangalore. Around 40 teams from different engineering colleges spread from various places of Karnataka and kerala participated in the challenge .Eight teams from different departments of GSSS Institute of Engineering & Technology for Women (GSSSIETW), Mysuru participated in the challenge . Heeba kauser R, Keerthana B M and Manasa M D of 4th Sem Department of Electronics And Communication Engineering bagged the third prize along with
prize money of Rs 10000. The idea pitched by the team was on “Automatic accident detection and message interfacing via sensor technology”
