  • The Department of Instrumentation Technology was established in the year 2006-07 with an annual intake of 60 students and renamed as Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering in the year 2014. The Department has been accredited by NBA, New Delhi for a period of 3 years (2017-18 to 2019-2020) and affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi and approved by AICTE, New Delhi. The Department has three hi-tech classrooms with projectors and well equipped laboratories with the latest software and hardware facilities required for the fulfillment of the curriculum and also to take up innovative projects.

  • The department caters to the ever challenging needs of technical excellence in all areas of Electronics Instrumentation with a perfect blend of industrial exposure, coupled with good technical base. The department has qualified and experienced faculty and technically competent supporting staff on its role. The infrastructure and lab facilities are upgraded from time to time and provide adequate opportunities for students to learn and innovate. The department is actively engaged in industry-institute interaction. The department is vibrant in conducting Seminars, Workshops, and Industrial visits for the continuous growth of students.

Identify, and troubleshoot various process instruments commonly used in automation industry

PSO2: Enables the Students to design the elements of a control system from a practical, working
perspective, and comprehend how these elements affect overall system operation and tuning in
measurement and instrumentation.

The course consists of: The Department is offering B.E. degree course in “Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering”, which is a multi-disciplinary branch of engineering, dealing with the science and technology of measurement of a large number of variables embracing the engineering disciplines like electrical, electronics, mechanical, communication and computer engineering. In today’s world of technological advancements Instrumentation Technology plays a vital role like aircraft instrumentation, biomedical instrumentation, distributed control systems, process controls and robotics. Knowing the ever growing importance & fast changing technical requirement of measurement and analysis, computers, electronic instrumentation, electronics circuits, power electronics, analog and digital systems, microprocessors, microcontrollers, digital signal processors (DSP) and programming languages are very essential. Analytical, mathematical, conceptual and practical skills are essential for an Instrumentation Engineer. All industries require controls and measurements of equipments and parameters leading to automation of industrial processes. Accurate and reliable measurements lead to better quality of products.
