Infrastructure

The Basic Science department is supported with necessary infrastructure consisting of spacious classrooms and well equipped laboratories to support the university syllabus requirements. The department is supported with eight classrooms along with two laboratories.

Objective : Demonstrate the ability to carry out experimental protocols using modern instrumentation and methods. Utilize critical thinking skills to apply concept knowledge and adapt experimental techniques

  • Voltmeter (AC/DC), current meter, resistors, capacitors, mercury vapour lamp, plano convex lens, multimeter, screw guage, vernier calipers

Objective : General familiarity with the following areas in  chemistry: analytical , inorganic, organic and  physical. The ability to work effectively and safely in teams as well as independently in a laboratory environment.

  • Digital Photoelectric Colorimeter with 8 filters (2 Nos.),
  • Digital pH meters with combined electrodes (3 Nos.), UV -Visible Spectrophotometer- 117 (1 No.),

  • Hot air oven (1 No.),
  • Digital Electronic Balance (Sartorius) (1 No.),
  • Digital Electronic Balance (citizen) (1 No.),
  • Hot plate (1 No.),
  • Distillation plant (1 No.),
  • Magnetic stirrer (6 Nos.).

  • Hot air drier, Combined Glass Electrode, Calomel Electrode, Platinum Electrode, Weston Cadmium cell, Dial type Balance

The classrooms are supported with Digital Light Projectors (DLP’s) & white board projection, glass board, with Seating Capacity : 75
